Although Disney+ has been holding things down with three popular shows set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe through the first half of 2021, it has been a little more than two years since the last time everyone went to a theater to see a Marvel movie with July 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home. That all changes Friday, July 9, when Black Widow, the first movie in Phase Four and 24th overall film in the MCU, opens in theaters. But for the first (and possibly only) time in the decades-long cinematic universe, you can watch Black Widow streaming the same day it comes out in theaters.
Just as millions of Marvel’s biggest moviegoing supporters flood into theaters to watch Scarlett Johansson return as Natasha Romanoff following the events of Captain America: Civil War and prior to Avengers: Infinity War, you will be also be able to watch the highly-anticipated comic book movie from the comfort of your own home. Here’s how!
Where To Watch Black Widow Streaming
If you want to watch Black Widow streaming and see Scarlett Johansson back in action for the first time since her character sacrificed herself in Avengers: Endgame, there is good news and bad news. First with the good news: Black Widow is streaming on Disney+ the same day it enters theaters, but (here comes the bad news) it will cost you an additional $29.99 (on top of your monthly subscription) to watch the movie through the Premier Access add-on.
If spending an extra $30 on the movie isn’t that big of a deal (there are plenty of reasons why the streaming route is worth the money), you will be all set when Black Widow makes its debut on Friday, July 9. It should be notice that your access to Black Widow on Disney+ with Premier Access requires an active Disney+ subscription.

When Will Black Widow Be Available To All Disney+ Subscribers
Just like other movies that have taken the Disney+ with Premier Access route since the option was introduced for the September 2020 release of Mulan, Black Widow will become available to everyone on Disney+ a little less than three months after landing in theaters, or specifically Wednesday, October 6.

Marvel Movies And TV Shows Coming After Black Widow
The release of Black Widow is just one of the many upcoming Marvel movies coming to the big screen following a two-year break (the longest experienced by the MCU since the whole universe started). This year alone, we will see the release of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (September 3), The Eternals (November 5), and Spider-Man: No Way Home (December 17). Then in 2022, we will see Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (March 25, 2022), Thor: Love and Thunder (May 6, 2022), Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (July 8, 2022), and The Marvels (November 11, 2022). The momentum continues into 2023 with the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (February 17, 2023) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (May 5, 2023).
Fans of the Marvel TV shows on Disney+ will have more to be excited about over the course of the next couple of years as the streaming service will continue releasing more series tied to the MCU. The animated anthology series What If…?, Hawkeye, and Ms. Marvel are all slated to land before the end of 2021, with Moon Knight, She-Hulk, Secret Invasion, Ironheart, Armor Wars, I Am Groot, and the untitled Black Panther animated series set to debut in 2022, 2023, and beyond.
