I usually stay clear of ongoing manga (I can't handle the waiting period between chapter releases and I have this fear that the translations or story itself might stop midway).

But this was such an interesting manga and I loved everything about it so I had to stick with it and patiently wait for it to be completed. I would love more time with these characters. I feel there was plenty left for a second novel.

I was first drawn by the graphic. Clear lines and let's admit it... such pretty boys! And at the end of the first chapter, I loved the story too.

I get weary sometimes that high school stories will have well... high school drama. And yet, I became attached to this group. It was interesting to see Katsumi wiggle his way into his boyfriend's heart and life, getting depressed when he thought he had been dumped, flirt with his colleague to blackmail him into silence (I did wonder if maybe the two of them would start something but alas, it wasn't meant to be). And our main heroes... how they advanced from friends and colleagues to partners in illicit behaviour, with Keisuke wearing pantyhose for Shinoda. And amidst those quick rendezvous, Keisuke discovers he has feelings for Shinoda. But it's not easy coming out, there is room for misunderstanding, feelings get hurt. But in the end, they manage to talk it out and have their happily ever after.

Definitely a manga I'd love to re-read! And hopefully discover a sequel.

2nd read was even better than the first. Found a much better translated version (and with additional pages too). Just love this manga!

The artwork is gorgeous, those abs and collarbones and jaw-lines are just so satisfying to behold. ;;v;;
More importantly, the leg-fetish thing got me going like:
Jackass! - Sawatte Ii tte Dare… (5)
This is tew much for my fangirl heart, so sensual, so cute and funny and damnn those legs. There were, of course, some misunderstandings and words that shouldn't have been said, but eventually, they made it through. I wasn't really into the seme at first, but in the end he turned out just fabulous and sweet, so okay.
And Katsumi is so cute, I wonder if there is any spin-off for him.
All hail Scarlet Beriko, this is such a good manga. ;;v;;

A pair of pantyhose accidentally worn reveals a secret fetish!

Jackass! is such a funny and hot manga. I highly recommend it if you're looking for something light to read. The characters are all interesting, even the supporting ones, and the way the plot developed was exciting enough.

I’m not used to reading manga, but my best friend is trying to get me to like them, so here we are. It was quite good, actually. It was fun and a light reading (tho I still struggle with the drawing style and reading form right to left, but that’s obviously my fault).

Finished rereading; wow it's been so long since I first read this manga. Decided to read it again because I saw it while cleaning my bookshelf this weekend and I still enjoyed it as much as I did when I first read it. 🤍

I love Scaberi and I'm looking forward to more high school-themed BLs from her. 🤍 Hopefully Sublime gets to license the spin-off featuring Miyoshi soon 🙏🏻

Vamos a intentarlo!!

Fetish is the great equalizer.

No, seriously. It really is. It doesn't matter one's wealth, occupation, social status, or perceived (assumed) orientation or alignment of sex or gender . . . a single kinky inclination can subvert all manner of one's comprehension of how human relations are supposed to function. Does this mean that perversion, by extension, is relative? Perhaps, but JACKASS doesn't go that route. Rather, the boys'-love manga sticks to the formula of two childhood friends whom upon stumbling into a funny and intimate bit of foreplay, can't help but slowly-but-surely go all of the way.

Keisuke Hara is persistent, athletic, and proud. He's also kind of poor, and he relies on his outgoing older sister, Akiko, and his gregarious neighbor, Katsumi, to fill in the gaps when he gets too focused on survival and doesn't pay enough attention to enjoying his youth.

Masayuki Shinoda is laid back, a womanizer, and filthy rich. He also has a fetish for feet/legs, and an even deeper affection for pantyhose.

JACKASS posits Keisuke and Masayuki as childhood friends whom have drifted apart but are tossed back into one another's arms as high school nears its end. Indeed, it's in gym class when Keisuke tosses on his sweatpants only to tearfully discover his alcoholic sister left her hosiery in them. Surely, the guy is doomed to ridicule from his fellow peers. But that's when Masayuki arrives.

Faking illness? Check. Stumbling into the nurse's office to avoid embarrassment? Check. Learning your mega-rich childhood buddy wants to nip and nuzzle your pantyhose-clad legs before you take off the hosiery? Um, check?

Boys sure are troublesome, aren't they?

This comic is more enjoyable for its frank, back-and-forth humor than for its inevitable bickering-turned-consummation, which happens a lot in yaoi comics. Keisuke is more uptight than his rich friend. Masayuki bottles things up more effectively than his straight-laced cohort. And then there's the hilariously bold Katsumi, an effeminate classmate whose side story regards an affair with an older man, as well as Katsumi's ambitious yanking of another classmate out of the closet.

JACKASS doesn't spend a lot of time on Masayuki's fetish for hosiery, but the author does finagle the young man's kink into a handful of situations that suitably drive the story forward . . . which is the best one can hope for. That the characters frequently bicker and berate one another over shortcomings other than those related to perversion and sexuality makes the comic a comfortable young-adult romp that slowly and casually bleeds into a more serious, more genuine, almost-love-story.

Crying over a lover who leaves without saying a word? Arguing over whether to come out of the closet quietly or while screaming? Worried about the strain of one's newly discovered sexuality on existing family relations? JACKASS is a quick-moving manga, but it's full, and it touches on each of these topics. Beriko's art does a lot with a little, and treats all of its characters with the concomitant respect, frivolity, and comical you-should-know-better sensitivities one can only hope exists somewhere in the real world.

…………. 4.5 stars ………….

This was so much funnier then I thought it would be. I loved that it didn’t take itself super seriously and that it also dealt with some heavier topics (hom*ophobia, student/teacher relationships, kinks, etc.). This was also more spicy then I thought it would be (I don’t know why I thought that, given the synopsis and that it’s rated M, but somehow I did 🤦‍♀️), and I loved it so much.

I loved that Keisuke and Masayuki were just kind of orbiting around each other until something happened to set them off. I liked that this dealt with both of them coming to realize their feelings for each other. And getting to explore their sexualities together! Another thing that I loved about this manga was the secondary romance and the secondary characters. Katsumi and Aramaki’s storyline was really interesting and I wish it was explored further.

I really enjoyed this one and I wish there was more content for it! This one is getting four and a half stars. It was just so much fun to read!

Why did this have to be so good. I want to cry because it was so cute. I want more of all these characters. I want to know where ALL the relationships go. I could read multiple volumes with these guys through the ups and downs. Like. For reals. So perfect. Instantly going to go back and reread my favourite scenes 😍🥰

Rilettura 2022:

Shinoda no me gustó nada.
