Defender Medal
The Tavernkeep is a unique NPC vendor that accepts only Defender Medals as currency for most items, instead of coins. He will only become accessible after the player has defeated the Eater of Worlds or Brain of Cthulhu. Once this criteria is met, he will appear as an Unconscious Man spawning in any layer of the world. Similar to other bound NPCs, talking to him allows him to claim a house and respawn when killed. The Tavernkeep's sentry summon weapons are associated with the Old One's Army event

The Tavernkeep is a unique NPC vendor who only accepts Defender Medals as currency for most items instead of coins. He will move in once the following criteria have been met:

Approaching and standing near the Tavernkeep while holding Ale can cause him to appear to be holding his own mug of Ale.
"[...]prices can also be higher or lower based on the NPC's happiness level." This is not true for defender medal prices, i just tested it. I also tried to edit it but i cannot find the nodes section for the shop. I have not tested the Discount Card or Greedy Ring as i dont own them yet. Theplagin (talk) 21:32, 11 July 2020 (UTC)
