Communication regarding your student'sprogress in the Novi Community School District is of paramount importance.

PowerSchoolPortal is a web application for Novi Community School Districtthat provides parents/guardianswith direct access to student data via the Internet. Parents (and legal guardians) of currentlyenrolled students are providedunique access code(s)and instructions on how to create a PowerSchool Portal account for Parents,which is used throughout the student’s educational history with the Novi Community School District. These unique codes are provided during enrollment and can be shared between parents/guardians to set up their individual accounts.

Parents connect to the district student databaseusing a web browser to view student data such as attendance records, report cards, transportation, transcripts and more.

PowerSchool does offer a mobile device app, which you can download through an iOS or Android app store. The PowerSchool app is only designed to view finalgrades and attendance.

The web version provides full functionality and morestudent data than the app.

New to the District?

As part of the enrollment process, parents/guardians mustcreate a unique login and password for the PowerSchoolPortal. These credentials areused throughout the student’s educational history with the Novi Community School District.

PowerSchoolPortal for Studentsprovides students with access to their own data. This is a separate login from Parent Portal and is for students only.

How does a parent/guardian get a PowerSchool Portal account for a currently enrolled student?

Please contact your child's school or email parentportal@novik12.org and anemail with yourcredentials can be sent. Once you receive the email with your access ID and password you will:

  1. Open the Internet browser on your computer (Do not use the app)
  2. Type https://novi.powerschool.com/publicinto the address bar.
  3. Select "Create Account" tab.
  4. Select the Create Account button.
  5. Complete the Parent Account details. Be sure to choose a username and password that is easy to remember but difficult to guess. All passwords must be at least 8 characters, and contain at least one uppercase, one lowercase, one number and one special character.
  6. To link your student(s) to your account, enter the student's name, Access ID, and Access Password which were supplied in the email you received. Finally, select your relationship to the student from the drop-down menu.
  7. If you have other students in the school district, you may add their names, Access IDs, and Passwords to the list. You can also add additional students after you have logged in for the first time (please see the FAQ on adding another student).
  8. Click the blue "enter" button to finish creating your account.
  9. Once your account is created, navigate back to novi.powerschool.com/public and select the “Sign In” tab. Please enter the username and password you chose for your parent account.
  10. View your student's information.
  11. Remember to log off when you are finished.

How do I add another student to my PowerSchool Portal account?

Once logged into your Parent Portal account, scroll down and select Account Preferences on the left side of the screen. Choose the “Students” tab.

You will see a list of students. If you need to add an additional student, select the blue "Add " button on the upper right side of the screen.

Enter thestudent'sname, access ID, access password and your relationship to the student. Then select OK.

Your newly addedstudent name will appear on a tab just below the PowerSchool logo.

Why can't I see transportation info?

Transportation information is only visible on the web version of the PowerSchool Portal. The app was not designed by PowerSchool to access transportation information.

If you log in to the web version still cannot see transportation, please contact transportation@novik12.organd someone from the Transportation Department will verify if a bus was assigned to the student.

What is the District Code to activate the app (iOS or Android)?

The District Code to activatethe app is TQNF. This information is also viewable on the bottom left of the landing page on the web version.

The app is designed by PowerSchool and is only used to access final grades and attendance.

Who do I contact about issues related to food service funds?

Visit the Nutrition Department websiteor call 248-449-1200, extension 2020.

How do I change a student's address?

New proof of Novi Community School District residency is required.Please contact Central Enrollment at 248-675-3430.

If this move is in conjunction with a parent/guardian address change, Central Enrollment can make changes for parent/guardian and child.

How do I change a parent/guardian address?

Please contact the front office staff at your child's school if you have an address change that does not include an address change for your student.

How do you change a phone or email address?

Please contact the front office at your child's school.

Why isn't all of my students' information appearing?

We are still migratinglegacy information from our previous system to PowerSchool.

Some information in the previous student information system will not be available in the PowerSchool system. One example of this is previous report cards. If you need a copy of your child's previous report cards, contact the front office of your child's current school.
